The One Voice Network Disability Awareness Event occurred on Sept 27 2012 from 10am-6pm at the Thornhill Community Centre located at 7755 Bayview Avenue Thornhill Ontario. The purpose behind employABILITY was to target students with disabilities moving into the workforce, job seekers with disabilities and various employers, and to increase awareness of the supports that exist for both jobseekers and employers in York Region.
Not only did we manage to increase awareness but participants also learned about the value of workers with disabilities and their positive influence and contributions to the workplace through shared success stories.
